Arrests in Melb over cocaine import links
AAP
Two men have been arrested in Melbourne over alleged links to a syndicate involved in large-scale cocaine importation to Australia.
The men - a 66-year-old from Buleen and a 69-year-old from Romania - were arrested in Glen Waverley as a result of an international drug-trafficking syndicate investigation. Both remain in custody and are expected to be charged.
"This is an example of the cooperation that occurs with foreign law enforcement to disrupt the importation of illicit drugs into Australia", Detective Acting Superintendent Jacqueline Curran said on Tuesday.
