Police attend after a man was stabbed with a chopstick in Adelaide. Nine

An Adelaide man is in a serious condition after being stabbed in the chest with a plastic chopstick.

Police and ambulance officers rushed to an incident in the inner northern suburb of Gilberton this afternoon.

They found a 26-year-old man with a chopstick sticking out of his chest.

The injured man was treated at the scene before being taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital.

He is believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries.

He remains in hospital after undergoing emergency surgery.

Adelaide detectives are investigating the incident.

Police cordoned off a crime scene this afternoon and have been interviewing potential witnesses.
