Accused Vic killer's sanity under scrutiny

The sanity of an Islamic State sympathiser accused of brutally murdering his wife in Melbourne is under scrutiny.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of murdering his wife in front of their children and dumping her body in Broadmeadows in June last year.

The man's fitness to stand trial has yet to be established, his defence lawyer told a Victorian Supreme Court directions hearing on Thursday.
