Two face court over fatal Vic shooting
Two men accused of a fatal New Year's Eve drive-by shooting in Melbourne have faced court.
Relatives of Nathan Knight, 24, who died from gunshot wounds, packed the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday for the first appearances of the two accused.
Serdar Atesok, 28, appeared via videolink from Port Phillip Prison, charged with murdering Mr Knight in Lalor on December 31.
Syed Sultan, 33, who was brought into the court, and is charged with providing a false statement to police, destroying property through arson and the theft of a silver station wagon worth $12,000.
Court documents state the car Sultan is accused of destroying was evidence in the murder of Mr Knight.
Both men were remanded and are scheduled to return to court on August 8.
