A Melbourne man allegedly groped four women at a bottle shop and held another woman against her will at a house and assaulted her, police say.

Manpreet Singh Bal appeared via video link in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday, accused of groping four women at a bottle shop on Point Cook Road at Sanctuary Lakes in the city's outer west on January 14.

The 24-year-old is also accused of holding a woman against her will and sexually assaulting her at a Wyndham Vale house, four days later.

The Wyndham Vale man is charged with five counts of intentional sexual touching without consent and one of false imprisonment.

His case was adjourned for further mention on May 4.
