$16m skylift to replace Vic chairlift
AAP
A $16 million gondola-style skylift will replace the ageing Arthurs Seat chairlift southeast of Melbourne.
The go-ahead came after the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal rejected a claim on Monday that the new ride on the Mornington Peninsula would pose a bushfire risk.
The skylift, with enclosed capsules, replaces the accident-prone Arthurs Seat chairlift that opened in the early 1960s.
