Vic MP undergoes major surgery for growth

Victorian Liberal MP Donna Bauer has undergone major surgery.

Mrs Bauer underwent surgery on Saturday after a growth was found during a routine medical check.

The Carrum MP last week advised Premier Denis Napthine she required leave from parliament for recovery and further tests.

"Mrs Bauer has advised me that she is confident of making a full recovery and looks forward to continuing to serve the people of Carrum as their elected Member of Parliament," Dr Napthine said in a statement on Tuesday.

"The thoughts of all members of Parliament are with Donna and her family at this time, and we wish her a speedy and full recovery."
