Vic men guilty of false imprisonment

Two men who robbed a man and left him tied up in his home where he later died have been found guilty of aggravated burglary and false imprisonment.

Christopher Meade, 29, was found dead with his hands tied up and his feet bound at his Doreen home, north of Melbourne, in June 2012.

Jack Ray, 23, from Yarrambat, and Nicholas Vella, 25, from Diamond Creek, were on Friday found guilty of aggravated burglary and false imprisonment after a Victorian Supreme Court trial.

Justice Terry Forrest had previously found a charge of manslaughter could not be proven.

Prosecutors had argued the stress of the ordeal caused a cardiac arrhythmia which killed Meade.

But Ray's barrister, Christopher Dane, QC, argued Mr Meade had an undiagnosed heart condition and was using ice at the time.
