Vic man dead after car flips on roof

An elderly man is dead after his car struck a median strip and flipped onto its roof southeast of Melbourne.

The man, aged in his 80s, crashed in Hastings at 3.45pm (AEDT) on Thursday and died at the scene.

His death takes Victoria's holiday road toll to four.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.

The national road toll period runs from midnight on December 23, 2013, until midnight on January 3, 2014, local times, in line with the Australia New Zealand Policing Advisory Board.
