Rare illnesses will be diagnosed earlier and treated faster under a $25 million genomic sequencing program across Victoria.

The Melbourne Genomics Health Alliance will see up to 2500 people over four years get earlier diagnoses of their conditions.

"We are helping families with genetic illnesses get the diagnoses they need, so they can get the treatment they need, sooner," Premier Daniel Andrews said.
