Vic gaming minister slams gambling ads

Gambling advertising is so widespread it has become normal for even children to talk about betting, Victoria's gaming minister says.

Jane Garrett wants a national round table to discuss the impact gambling is having on children.

"The fact is, you can't watch a sporting event these days without odds being thrown in your face ... kids are talking about odds like it's a normal part of life," Ms Garrett told reporters on Friday.

Gambling giant Tabcorp conceded at its annual general meeting on Thursday that there was too much gambling advertising and regulation was needed.
