The Victorian coalition has pledged $178.1 million to increase the frequency of long distance V/Line train trips.

The 79 extra services a week would run on the Albury, Ararat, Bairnsdale, Echuca, Maryborough, Shepparton, Swan Hill and Warrnambool lines from 2016/17, Premier Denis Napthine said today.

The Bunyip to Longwarry section of the Traralgon line would also be duplicated to create a continuous double track from Southern Cross in Melbourne to Moe.
