Vegemite takes on new look to commemorate 100th birthday

After 100 years of serving Aussies that rich, salty deliciousness, Vegemite has unveiled a brand new look to mark its centenarian birthday.

Collectors will have three special jar options to choose from to mark the occasion, which officially takes place on October 25, that each represent a different era.

There will be a design from the 1920s, '30s and '60s that enthusiasts can pick from.

"It's incredibly exciting to see the 100th birthday anniversary jars roll off the production line," long-time employee Rob Carmen said.

Making happy little Vegemites for over 50 years, Carmen said it's hard to believe the iconic brand is turning 100.

"It is hard to believe Vegemite is turning 100 mitey years this year – we're proud to continue to produce over 20 million jars of VEGEMITE each year."

The very first jars hit Aussie shelves in 1923 and have been a pantry staple in homes all over the country ever since.
