Unions asked to fund war chest

Trade union delegates will be asked to support increasing affiliation fees in a bid to build a campaigning war chest.
Re-elected ACTU secretary Dave Oliver will hand down the council's three-year strategic plan at the congress in Melbourne on Wednesday, outlining measures to target 32 marginal seats in the lead-up to the next federal election.
It will include an increase in affiliation fees from $4 to $6 a member, to create a multimillion dollar reserve of funds.

After delegates backed the ACTU's 'Build a Better Future' campaign on Tuesday, Mr Oliver is confident his plan will get support.
