UN climate talks a joke: Liberal MP
AAP
Government backbencher Dennis Jensen has branded the UN climate talks in Paris a "joke", and questioned why Australia has to be involved when nations like China are "doing nothing".
The well-known climate sceptic implored the government not to budge on its target to cut carbon emissions by at least 26 per cent by 2030 and stick to what was agreed to in the Liberal party room.
"If there's discussion about it a couple of years in the future, don't change it again. This is just a joke," he told reporters in Canberra on Tuesday.
