NSW Uber driver allegedly attacked by teens

A group of teenagers have allegedly set upon a ride-sharing service driver in New South Wales's Hunter region, assaulting him before stealing his car.

The 35-year-old Uber driver was called to a Lake Macquarie address early today, where he was dragged from his car and assaulted by four or five teenagers.

He mannaged to escape to a nearby house, but was chased by two people with baseball bats who then smashed a car parked in the driveway.

The man's car is also believed to have been driven a short distance by two people.

It was found crashed into a roundabout with two phones and a wallet missing.

The driver suffered cuts to his arms and legs, muscle pain and soreness, but declined medical attention at the scene.
