Uber delivers dinosaur to Adelaide users

Uber has delivered an on-demand robotic dinosaur to users in Adelaide this morning.

The two-metre tall "uberSAURUS-X" rampaged across the city today, thanks to a collaboration between the ride-sharing service and Adelaide Zoo.

Social media user Ben Storer snapped the ferocious creature being lovingly petted by a young admirer.

“Every budding palaeontologist’s dream,” Mr Storer captioned the picture.

The initiative was aimed at promoting Adelaide Zoo's Dinosaurs Alive exhibit which allows visitors get a taste of prehistoric life by walking among seven life-like animatronic dinosaurs.

Adelaide Zoo's "dino keeper" Nic Bishop told the TODAY Show it was an “innovative way” to encourage people to learn about dinosaurs and to promote the zoo's conservation efforts.

"We're working to save their modern-day ancestors from going the way of the dinosaurs and this is a fun way to stomp that message throughout suburban Adelaide," Mr Bishop said.
