Two Perth teens charged after string of robberies

Two teenagers have been charged over a string of robberies in Perth that saw one resident threatened with a screwdriver.

The pair, both 18, were arrested after a pursuit that saw them get chased by police through backyards and bushland in Mirrabooka.

Their allegedly stolen car was stopped by road spikes, causing them to flee.

The teens scaled a roof in Woodbine Terrace, watched from above by a police helicopter.

Surrounded and with nowhere to run, the teens surrendered as officers closed in on them.

Among the string of burglary offences, they’ve been charged with invading a home in Parmelia on June 10 and threatening a man with a screwdriver over a packet of cigarettes.

On July 12, the pair are alleged to have broken into a Ballajura home, where they stole property and two cars – an Audi A4 and a Holden Commodore ute.

The Port Kennedy 18-year-old is facing charges of stealing a motor vehicle and drive recklessly, reckless driving to escape pursuit by police, aggravated failure to stop and no authority to drive.

The other 18-year-old from Balga has been charged with stealing a motor vehicle, attempted home burglary with intent, aggravated home burglary and commiting an armed robbery.
