Two police injured in Vic siege explosion

Two police have been seriously injured and a man possibly killed after a six-hour siege ended in an explosion in western Victoria.

The blast occurred at a Derrinallum property early on Saturday after police spent several hours negotiating with a man wanted over a violent incident.

Police said the man was irrational and had threatened self-harm.

Two male officers were injured in the explosion and taken to hospital, where they remain in a stable condition.

The man's fate is unclear, however police believe he may have been killed in the blast.

Police believe there may be more explosives at the property and have closed the nearby Hamilton Highway as the Bomb Squad tries to secure the site.
