Two people killed after car and livestock truck collide near Dubbo

Two people have died after a collision between a car and a livestrock truck in rural NSW.
A sedan and a truck carrying sheep collided on the Newell Highway, south of Dubbo, at around 4.40pm yesterday.
Two people in the car died at the scene.
The truck driver has been taken to Dubbo Base Hospital for treatment. He will also undergo mandatory blood and urine tests.
An unknown number of sheep were also killed in the crash.
The Newell Highway was closed in both directions near Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
Motorists were being diverted via Obley Road and Camp Road.
Police from Orana Local Area Command are working with vets at the scene to identify injured sheep.
