Two killed in horror South Australia crash

Two people have been killed after a car collided with a road train in South Australia's far north.

Just before 6pm yesterday, a car and road train collided on the Stuart Highway, south of Glendambo.

Two people in the car died at the scene, while another three people were airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital by the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

The truck driver escaped major injury and was taken to the Roxby Downs Hospital for observation.

The Stuart Highway was closed to all traffic for several hours.

These latest fatalities bring the state's road toll to 82 for 2014 so far, the same number as this time last year.
