Two dead, two injured in Tas car crash

Two women are dead and two other people have serious injuries after a car slammed into a brick wall in a Tasmanian town.

The car lost control on a bend on South Road in West Ulverstone, before 4pm on Sunday.

Police say the vehicle crossed the median strip and hit a pedestrian, then rolled over and slammed into the wall outside a hardware shop.

There were three women in the car, with the driver and back-seat passenger killed.

The front-seat passenger survived but has suffered critical injuries.

The male pedestrian has serious injuries.
