When $600,000 in cash is found in a suburban backyard – who gets the stash?
In this case, the haul was found on a Bankstown property in Sydney's south-west.
The money had been tossed into a neighbouring property by the original possessors, in an attempt to evade detection.

It was seized in early 2019, after a federal police investigation into an alleged crime syndicate.
Sadly for the residents it was dumped onto, the money has been forfeited to the Commonwealth.
Two people have been convicted for dealing with the proceeds of crime.
