Safety warning after boys on bike collide with car on NSW Central Coast
A boy is in hospital after he and a friend were hit by a car while riding a bike on the New South Wales Central Coast overnight.
Two twelve-year-old boys were riding a bike together at Umina Beach last night when they collided with a car.
One boy, who had been sitting on the handlebars, was thrown underneath the car and suffered significant injuries.

He sustained head injuries, grazing, and a number of fractures, Chief Inspector John Zdrilic said.
He is currently in an induced coma at Sydney Children's Hospital.
Neither boy was wearing a helmet, prompting a road safety warning from police.
Zdrilic urged parents to make sure their children knew about safety rules and precautions when on a bike.
The other boy was also injured but was treated locally.
Zdrilic said the driver, who tested negative for alcohol at the scene, was "shaken up" but assisting police with inquiries.
Officers are awaiting the results of the driver's mandatory testing.
