Turnbull returns to more questions on GST

Despite being out of the country attending several international meetings with world leaders, Malcolm Turnbull reckons Labor hasn't changed.

Amid the backdrop of terror attacks in Paris and elsewhere, Opposition Leader Bill Shorten used question time on Monday to resume his attack over the possibility of a 15 per cent GST.

"I don't feel I've been away at all. Nothing has changed. Question time is just as it was when I left," the prime minister told parliament.

Shadow treasurer Chris Bowen asked Mr Turnbull to rule out putting 15 per cent GST on rents.

The prime minister responded that a full discussion on tax is not to "salami slice the debate and rule out one thing after another".

"That is where the former Labor government got into trouble with the Henry tax review," he said.
