Turnbull faces protest in Brisbane

Union protesters have mobbed the prime minister as he visited a Brisbane business.

Malcolm Turnbull was surrounded by police as he entered Gilimbaa digital creative agency on Friday.

Protesters had arrived 20 minutes before him, led by a man wearing a paper-mache bobble head of Mr Turnbull, along with a Panama hat, Hawaiian shirt and a briefcase full of fake money.

Around 50 protesters chanted "save our weekend rates" as they awaited his arrival.

ACTU boss Ged Kearney addressed the media, insisting the Liberal-National party was trying to take away penalty rates for workers.

Mr Turnbull is visiting the business to announce a plan to encourage indigenous entrepreneurs.
