No, it's not a dating profile but the self-analysis of a prime minister.

A very happy prime minister, in fact.

"I'm a convivial person," Malcolm Turnbull told Neil Mitchell on 3AW on Friday.

"I like being out and about - that's one of the reasons I get public transport."

The assessment came following the prime minister's milestone this week: a year since he took on the job.

Since then he's seen his personal approval ratings plummet - not to mention retaining his job with just a hair's breadth of a margin at the July election.

But like all good yearly employee reviews, Mr Turnbull insists he's super jolly and all is well at work.

"I'm sure there's been better prime ministers, but there's never been a happier one," he said.

"I am a friendly, outgoing personality and I like getting out and about with people."
