Video has emerged of a truck driving erratically on a New South Wales road, swerving dangerously in and out of lanes.

The dash-camera footage was shared on Facebook by Darwin resident Julia Martin, who found it on a closed group called ‘Name and Shame bad drivers, Australia’.

In the video, the driver of a large truck can be seen weaving in and out of lanes and narrowly missing several cars.

Ms Martin has urged police to track down the diver.

“NSW police you need to catch this truck driver for all of our safety!!!” she wrote.

Ms Martin called the driver a “maniac” and encouraged her friends to share the video to help track them down.

“This maniac is as bad as someone shooting a bullet down a street full of people,” she wrote.

“He needs to be caught before he continues to drive like a lunatic and possibly severely injure someone or worse kill someone.”

The clip has been viewed more than 82,000 times and shared by 476 Facebook users.

It is unclear exactly where the incident took place, but street signs visible in the video suggest it was somewhere outside of Penrith.

One viewer said they recognised the road and claimed it was “right in front of the St Marys Police station on Great Western Highway”.
