Trio flee fiery crash scene in Melbourne

Three people have fled after crashing two cars, one of which rolled over and caught fire, and allegedly throwing a wheelie bin at other cars in Melbourne.

Police believe the woman and two men may have been injured in the Box Hill crash in the early hours of Friday.

The woman crashed one car into a fence while the other car rolled onto its roof and caught fire.

The trio fled before police arrived.

Police say the incident may be linked to a reckless spree earlier in the nearby suburb of Burwood.

A number of drivers said their vehicles were damaged after a wheelie bin was thrown from a moving car around midnight.
