Tributes flow for well-known Byron Bay local Myles Trainor

Tributes are flowing for a NSW father and property developer who died this month.

Myles Trainor was a well-known figure in Byron Bay community.

Trainor and his brother Harry previously sold Belongil Beach house to hospitality mogul Justin Hemmes for $22 million.

He also worked as a portfolio manager for property management and construction company Gene.

Trainor’s friend, influencer Ruby Tuesday Matthews, said she would miss him “every single day”.

“I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that you’re not here,” Matthews said.

“It doesn’t feel real, and I don’t know if it ever will.

“I keep thinking about those last few weeks, I wish I’d picked up the phone one more time.

“Life got busy like it always does, and I know we both understood that, but I’d give anything for one more conversation.”

Matthews said the pair had spent many Christmases and birthdays together.

“Our favourite thing was to shop and eat together whilst laughing our faces off,” she said.

“When life felt lonely, we became family.

“You watched and help me raise my kids as a single mum, and I had the privilege of watching you become the dad you always wanted to be.

“Seeing how much your boys adored you was one of the greatest gifts.”

Other members of the Byron Bay community expressed their shock and sadness at the news.

“This is so incredibly sad to hear,” one local said.

“He was such a quiet, anti-showoff and a genuine part of what made our recent chapter of Byron Bay great,” another resident said.
