No-one was found at the scene and officers from Botany Bay Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Ausgrid power workers are currently repairing the pole but that work may run into peak hour and affect truck access to Port Botany.
Police are warning motorists to avoid the area and allow plenty of time for travel.
