Though parts of Australia are currently under a brutal summer heatwave, they're still far from some of the world records for heat.
Here's a look at the hottest temperatures ever recorded around the world.
10 - Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Jeddah, in western Saudi Arabia, recorded a blistering 52 degrees C on June 22, 2010.
That temperature stands today as the record for Saudi Arabia.
9 - Mexicali, Mexico
Mexicali, on the Mexican side of the border with California, USA clocked a withering 52 degrees back in 1995.
The area is one of the hottest average places in Mexico, with an average July High temperature of 42.2 degrees.
8 - United Arab Emirates
The desert on the border between the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia recorded a high of 52.1 degrees in July 2002.
5 - Mitribah, Kuwait
Mitribah in northwest Kuwait matched IIraq's temperature record for the continental region of Asia.
In 2016 it reached a scorching 53.9 degrees and is recognised as one of the highest temperatures recorded in the last 76 years, according to the World Meteorological Organisation.
2 - Keblii, Tunisia
Taking the record as the second highest recorded temperature on earth, is Kebili in Tunisia.
The region hit 55 Degrees C back in 1931.
Death Valley is a desert valley located in Eastern California. It is the lowest, driest, and hottest area in North America.
It's also notorious for being the hottest place on the planet.
On Juy 10, 1913, it hit the hottest ever recorded temperature at 56.7 degrees C.
in 1972, the ground temperature clocked 93.9 degrees C - more than enough to boil an egg.
