Toddler dies after being hit by minibus in far north Queensland

A 20-month-old girl has died after she was hit by a minibus on Palm Island, in far North Queensland.
Police believe passengers were getting out of the minibus at Serenity Crescent when the young girl moved to the front of the vehicle and was struck as it pulled away.
The girl was taken to Palm Island Hospital in a critical condition about 12.45pm (AEST), a Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said.
She had since died, the spokesperson confirmed to 9news.com.au.
Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit will be flown to Palm Island to investigate the incident.
