Toddler dies after being struck by car in Queensland driveway

A toddler has died after being hit by a car in the driveway of a property in regional Queensland.

The 15-month-old boy was struck about 4.45pm yesterday by a car being driven by a woman, police said.

The incident happened at a property on Berryman Road in Home Hill, an hour south of Townsville.

The boy was rushed to Ayr Hospital but later died. 

Police are investigating the infant's sudden death and the boy's mother is assisting police with their investigations.
