'Incredible flying weatherman' Tim Davies takes to the skies

Tim Davies has successfully strapped on a jetpack and hovered high above a Sydney lake.

The Today weather presenter tried his hand at the extreme activity after delivering the national forecast this morning at Jetpack Adventures in Penrith.

"I am very nervous, I haven't done this before," Tim told Karl, Sarah and Alex back in the Today studio.

"We are just setting up the microphones, making sure we don't get them wet because we want you to hear me scream at home - at least that's what my producer told me."

As Tim jumped into the water and started the jets Karl warned him not to smack his head on the pontoon and "watch out for the ducks", but before long he was up and away.

"It's the incredible flying weather man," an impressed Sarah said in awe.

Karl said he was nervous watching after what happened to former co-host Ally Langdon when she tried a similar water activity in 2021, but encouraged Sarah to try it herself.

"I don't know if I'm game enough to do it," she said.

"Ally set the benchmark - it wasn't a high benchmark, but she is still hobbling about and doing a brilliant job on A Current Affair," Karl laughed.
