Tim Davies farewelled after seven years on Today

Tim Davies has wrapped up his seven-year stint at the Today show surrounded by his crew and a few special guests.
Davies walked into the Today studio one last time this morning, greeted by a singing choir, a group of Nine presenters, producers and crew members.

Also waiting in the studio was a spokesperson for Qantas, who gifted him a pair of first class pyjamas and a few other goodies.
Davies flew to different parts of the country every day for seven years to present the weather from some of Australia’s most beautiful spots.
His trips included every single state and territory in the country, including Uluru, and The Whitsundays.
He even flew internationally, reporting from five different continents across his years on the Today show including France, New Zealand, Greece and Thailand.
As Davies was surrounded by his colleagues in his final segment, he gave a heartfelt speech thanking everyone for the past seven years.
“I didn’t do it all alone as you just saw, I need to thank my incredible team behind the scenes, team weather as we call them,
“I know you don’t get to see them every day, I’m the lucky one that gets to represent all their hard work and commitment, I’m so grateful to them they are the reason I lasted on this ride for so very long. We are friends in arm and brothers for life.”

He went on to thank the wider Today show production team, and the producers in the control room.
Davies then included a shout-out to former Today host’s Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo, who just announced this week she would be stepping away from the program at the end of the year.
“I need to say a huge thank you to Ally, to Karl, and to Sarah, thank you guys so much, wow what a journey we have been on.
“All three of you have made me a better broadcaster each and very day by challenging me, backing me up and catching me if I fall, live TV is not an easy beast to be involved with but thank you for everything you’ve done.”
We’d love to hear from you
