Tim Davies has put his fitness to the test undergoing a training exercise with NSW Corrections.

The Today weather presenter was kitted out in an officer uniform and tried his hand at dragging an 80kg dummy, using bolt cutters and brandishing a power saw - all while wearing a gas mask.

"There's not a lot of air to come through," Tim noticed as he donned the restrictive head gear.

But with the encouragement of NSW Corrections officers - and Karl and Sarah back in the studio - Tim completed the challenge with no hiccups.

"Well if ever I'm in the big house, I'd like Tim to be my guard," Karl said.

"Let's hope you never end up in the big house Karl," Sarah replied.

Tim is presenting the weather from the Francis Greenway correctional complex in Sydney's west ahead of National Corrections Day tomorrow.
