New survey proves extended holiday will help your work performance

More than half of Australians say they are constantly stressed at work, while a third feel their jobs don't allow enough time for recovery.
That's why an increasing number of people are now taking "radical sabbaticals", extended breaks to recharge and travel abroad to exotic locations.
"A radical sabbatical is anything from four weeks to six months, so it's more than a holiday, but not as long as a gap year," travel presenter Felicity Harley told Today.

"Basically, it just gives you a chance to step out of everyday life and go and experience different cultures, see the world, do those bucket list adventures and most importantly, reset your health and wellbeing."
Explore Worldwide conducted a survey which found 60 per cent of Australaians were overworked and stressed and one in three said they just don't have enough time for rest and recovery.
"And 72 per cent would love a radical sabbatical written into their workplace contract," Felicity added.

The survey found 76 per cent of Australians felt positive upon their return to work, following a radical sabbatical, while 40 per cent said it prevented burnout and
31 per cent felt a renewed sense of purpose.
"You can do whatever is on your bucket list and it's about doing it now, because I think we so often wait until we're retired to do these kind of trips," Felicity said.
"But why not do them, especially in the midlife? And as a woman, when we've got kids and to do lists and everything, we need to take these."
