Emergency broadcast interrupts foreign minister live on air

And Penny Wong discovered this first-hand when an emergency evacuation alarm sounded while she was speaking with the Today team.
The foreign minister was discussing Australia's bid to block China from gaining a foothold in the Pacific, when sirens started to blare.

"I think I have an emergency warning system to attend to," the minister smiled as she tried to hear Sarah and Karl.
But while Karl joked Wong was just trying to get out of answering any tough questions, she did point out the alarm was "almost deafening".
"You are a professional Penny," Karl told her.
