There is an incredible team of people working non-stop to make all of Nine's great coverage of Paris 2024 happen.

Nearly 200 staff from the official Olympic network will be pulling 12-plus hour daays, with hundreds more back in Australia to bring viewers the biggest television broadcast the world has ever seen.

Just to gauge how mammoth an effort it is to put everything together, Karl Stefanovic has treated Today fans to a behind-the-scenes look at exactly what goes into making the next two weeks happen.

"There is so much work that's been done to get us to this point, now we're almost ready and you will be able to have a bird's eye view of one of the greatest Olympics ever," he said.

"It starts now and it's just incredible."

Through months of preparation, technicians from all over the world have pieced together a mammoth amount of equipment that will air hours and hours of live footage of dozens of events each day from the Nine's broadcast centre down the road from the Eiffel Tower.

And there are also production offices in multiple countries helping make sure it all goes off without a hitch.

"I've just come out of another area I'm not supposed to go into, but I found out this startling fact - Nine alone has 17,000 kilometres of fibre optic cables running from Paris to Sydney," Karl said as he guided viewers through the broadcast centre.
