'Goosebumps' moment for Olivia Newton-John's niece during charity event

Olivia Newton-John's niece has revealed a special moment during the weekend's Walk for Wellness event where she knew the star was watching over her.

This was the first time Tottie Goldsmith led the event after the Grease star's passing on August 8 this year.

She told Today, while the day was a success, there were hard moments where she realised Newton-John wasn't participating.

"We were standing at the line before we took off and I just went, 'Oh, my god, she's missing, she's not here,'" Goldsmith told Today.

More than 4000 people participated in the charity event and what started out as a gloomy wet Melbourne day turned into the perfect weather by the time the starting siren went.

"It rained for a little while then the skies just opened and it was beautiful. The vibe there was incredible, people were so happy," Goldsmith said.

She said there were some emotional times along the track, but a special sign from above showed her she was not alone.

"I looked up and there was this huge white cloud in the shape of a heart," she said.

"I've got goosebumps through me now thinking about it.

"By the time I raced to get my phone and take a photo it had just started morphing out but I put it on my Instagram and it was Olivia saying, 'Well done', it was her being happy."
