Mindy Kaling's exclusive sit down with Today
Since her time on The Office, Mindy Kaling has been making audiences laugh with her comedic timing and authenticity around matters close to her heart, particularly representation of South Asian women on screen.
She really cemented her name as a remarkable comedic all-rounder on The Mindy Project and Kaling has really come into her own with more and more opportunities to show her talents behind the camera.

And her new streaming series, Not Suitable For Work, has yet again proven the mother-of-three knows what she is doing behind-the-scenes.
The show is now streaming on Disney Plus and follows five 20-somethings as they navigate work and dating in New York City.
“Not Suitable For Work is the third in a trilogy of shows about my youth,” Kaling exclusively told Today entertainment producer Anna Cordaiy.
“Never Have I Ever was about my time in highschool, Sex Lives of College Girls was loosely based on my time at Dartmouth, although I definitely wasn’t in as many sexy situations as those characters and now this new show is about my time moving to New York when I was 21 and right out of college and it was a period of my life that I remember so vividly so I knew I had to do a show about this.”
Despite having well and truly earned her place as one of Hollywood’s most powerful comedic actors, writers and directors, Kaling certainly hasn’t forgotten where she came from.
“So much of what I do now is what I learned very early in my career, working on The Office, as both a writer and an actor - but everything I learned is pretty much fromThe Office and The Mindy Project,” she said.
