Melbourne grandmother's home to be bulldozed for railyard
A Melbourne grandmother is desperately trying to save her home with council set to knock it down to make way for a new rail yard.
The Heatherton property is the only one marked for acquisition for the project and Lynette Johns told Today she is "depressed and upset" at the thought of being forced out of the place she has called home for the past 30 years.
"I don't want to go. I'm comfortable here, I've got doctors and hospital and everything close by and I just don't want to move," Lynette told Today.

The 72-year-old's home is the only property Southern Rail Authority is looking to acquire, but others in the community are upset as well.
She said she received a letter last year saying her home would be acquired but has not heard anything since, so she doesn't even know if it is a sealed deal.
The land was originally supposed to be parkland but Lynette and others in the community have had to fight developers with other ideas for it. Today
"When we bought the property it (the surrounds) was supposed to parkland," she said.
"We fought a concrete crushing plant they wanted to put in, then it was back to parkland, and now they've brought in this."
Southern Rail Authority told 9News: "It is doing everything it can to minimise potential impacts and this site involves less property acquisition than any other."
But Lynette said she felt like she has been ignored and she is worried they will just turn up one day and kick her out of her home.
