What's happening in entertainment news today

The Superbowl provided a smorgasbord of entertainment with the great city of New Orleans wearing its heart on its sleeve.

From Lady Gaga's beautiful tribute to the horrors on Bourbon Street on New Year's Eve, to big brass bands and a few local lads, Harry Connick Jr playing host and Jon Batiste performing the national anthem.

All of this stuff very much set the scene for the sounds and sentiments of the great city, although there have been mixed reactions to the halftime show, which of course featured Kendrick Lamar with an intro from Samuel L Jackson himself.

Lamar had special guest SZA, a cameo from Serena Williams and plenty of patriotic energy.

There was more fuel for the ongoing feud with fellow rapper Drake, much of it lost on the masses but going viral with fans, sparked by his controversial multi-Grammy winning diss track, Not Like Us.

And it wasn't just about the entertainment, of course, Lamar's very polarising performance, or the game, which was pretty much a one-sided affair for the Philadelphia Eagles.

But it was also the megabuck commercial content, which featured many movie trailers, including Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning.

That one will be in cinemas on May 22 and you can check the trailer and Superbowl highlights out in the video above.
