Karl Stefanovic abducted by aliens on Halloween

There were concerns Karl Stefanovic may not make it into work this morning after a close call while trick-or-treating.

Nine News crews spotted the Today host among the thousands of Aussies out celebrating the spooky season yesterday with his family.

But a surprise green guest was tagging along ...

"Aghhh! I haven't seen Karl - he is not going to make it to the show tomorrow - Aghhh!" someone who looked a lot like Karl told the reporter as he appeared to struggle with a big alien.

But while Karl did appear to make it into the studio this morning, he joked "is it really me?" hinting there may be a body snatchers situation happening ...
