With all the wild weather Australia's east coast has been copping in recent days, the Today team have their fingers... and toes crossed for a little sunshine over the weekend.

But Jayne Azzopardi has startled her co-hosts with the revelation of a quirky, slightly creepy talent she can actually perform with their toes.

"I sometimes cross my legs and do this with my toes," the news presenter said, interlocking her fingers.

But as Karl, Sarah and Danika's eyebrows raised in disbelief at what she just said, Jayne instantly regretted opening that Pandora's box.

Karl whipped his shoes and socks off to completely understand what Jayne was talking about, not quite being able to get his head around the skill himself.

"Oh gross, why have you got a black toenail?" Sarah asked.

"I thought I could smell something, he's taken the socks off as well."

But Jayne said the skill of crossing her legs and interlocking her toes together just feels natural when she's barefoot at the beach, or lounging at home.

"There are other people who can do this - surely I am not the only one," Jayne asked viewers.
