Experts says fuel rationing should be 'last resort'
Fuel rationing in Australia should be a "last resort" measure, according to a logistics expert.
David Leaney, from the Australian National University, speaking on Today this morning state and federal governments had plenty of other measures available to combat petrol and diesel shortages.
"Rationing may become necessary, but there are other things that can done now," he said.

Encouraging more car pooling, forecourt fuel limits and banning containers, including jerrycans, were other potential measures.
Leaney says car pooling can make a 50 per cent difference in reducing commuting costs.
