Trio of great white sharks try to steal fishing vessel's bait
A fishing charter off the NSW coast has captured the terrifying moment a giant great white shark lunged at the boat.
The team were fishing off Port Stephens over the weekend when they had not one, but three of the predators emerge from the water to try and steal their bait.
Skipper, John Smith's nephew managed to capture one of the confrontations on camera, with a shark which measured at least 4.5 metres in length.

And that wasn't even the largest, with another measuring at least five metres.
"It's just amazing and it was great to get some awesome footage from it," John told Today.
John and his team were about 50 kilometres out from the shore and as scary as it sounds to have several sharks try to mount your boat in waters that deep, he said it is a regular occurrence.
"It's not scary at all, a lot of people say that, but we do this for a sport every weekend," he said.

"(My colleague) Damien had it by the nose, basically giving it a pat and pushing it off and my nephew Jake was right in the corner and just managed to get all the action on camera."
