For some Aussies, the mundane drag of the 9-to-5 work week can be a bit boring at times.

But one Ballarat local has chosen a career path that means there's no chance he'll ever be restless at work, combining his passion for music with his love of Aussie wildlife.

Jack Gatto is an internationally recognised Elvis impersonator, but rather than call him the King of Rock, his fans have labelled him the King of "Croc".

Because by day, Jack wrangles crocodiles and snakes at the Ballarat Reptile Park, but by night he shakes, rattles and rolls with the sequined jumpsuit and quiffed hair.

"I thought I'd trade a shake, rattle and roll for a snake, rattle and roll," he told Today.

Jack caught the entertaining bug early, previously acting as an understudy for The Wiggles before getting into his current line of work.

But after seven years touring with the children's group, he swapped the blue skivvy for an Akubra.

"It's strange going from the Cooly Rocks On festival on the Gold Coast to feeding five metre saltwater super crocs, mate - but it's unreal," he said.
