The team behind Aussie swimwear label Budgy Smugglers is on the hunt to find the country's "most ordinary rig".

Adam and Nathan Linforth told Today the Ordinary Rig competition is about celebrating tummy rolls and being confident in the skin you're in.

But with a bunch of blokes in the studio in various states of undress for the segment, of course Karl had to do what Karl does best and get a bit cheeky with his guests.

"I'm not sure where to look," a blushing Ally said of Nathan being dressed in a skimpy pair of bright togs.

"It is breakfast Ally and it looks like we are having chipolatas," Karl replied with a big grin on his face.

The competition is in its sixth year and Adam told Today they have already had hundreds of entries from all over the world for 2022.

And while Ally practiced her intense flirty staring with the Budgy Smuggler lads, Karl took the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the models Adam and Nathan brought into the studio.

"The first step in entering Ordinary Rig if you have a borderline six pack, you will have to get into the Macca's and keep your rig developing," Adam said.

"It is not this Giorgio Armani chiseled, ripped look."

But while the competition promotes the everyday man's real, healthy body shape, Adam clarified it is not "a sloppy rig contest".

"We are not encouraging blokes to totally let go, but if you want to have a few cakes, pies and beers on the side that is okay," he said.
